“Experience I had in Lobur mission” A word from Virginia Wambui.

I had the best experience in the program.

Nervous at first unaware of what would become of the outreach mission.

I was impressed by how welcoming the community was to us despite them seeing new faces. I learnt how to appreciate other people’s culture and also some words in Turkana.

During masses on Sunday and on weekdays the masses was animated well and peopleĀ  sung

All smiles with my team to be for the coming one month after this exact moment. secretly praying the Lodwar be good to us all.

mel

odiously.

We had the opportunity to learn new dishes such as pancakes. I also had the opportunity to work on the health sector working in hand with the Nurses there.

Language barrier was the most encountered challenge there especially during mass, interacting with the community there and also communicating with them during mobile clinics.

There was hostile weather conditions such as extreme temperatures.

We also experienced impassable roads when going to the mobile clinic.

And everything turned out to be perfectly wonderful as we arrived and started our mission.

I learnt that you give whatever you have wholeheartedly and also generosity is not measured in by the many things you have.

Community life was at its best with shared meals, responsibilities and living together.

When given a chance to serve others, be responsible and do it for others and making the lives of others simple.

Life is precious and appreciate the presence of others because ” I am because we are”.

Be mindful of others people culture so that you may live in harmony and peace.

I learnt more in the health sector especially laboratory how to test Malaria and others and I loved it .

The vibrant children the welcoming community made me realize the importance to appreciate life and the small graces we are blessed with.
