WITH THE MISSIONARIES BACK IN TOWN. WHAT DID THEY EXPERIENCE? Listen from Meeta Xavier…

would like to sincerely thank Fr. Boniface, our KUCC chaplain, for giving me the opportunity to be part of the outreach programme at Lobur Mission in Lodwar Diocese. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to Fr. Andrew for the warm welcome and hospitality at the Lobur mission.

It was all smiles as we departed Kenyatta University to the far Land.

This experience has been deeply enriching. The vibrant community, full of life and a welcoming spirit, made a lasting impression on me. What amazed me most was the unwavering hope and dedication of the priests leading the mission, despite the challenges they face daily.

sometimes the sun felt so hot but we had to bear with the harsh conditions.

Despite the difficulties we encountered—including the harsh climate, unfamiliar culture, and language barriers—we carried on as true pilgrims of hope. These challenges strengthened our missionary zeal and reminded us that with faith and commitment, we can serve in any condition.

I am also deeply grateful to the members of our outreach team. Your support, cooperation, and shared commitment made this journey even more meaningful. Together, we embraced new environments, grew in faith, and strengthened one another.

Personally, I’ve learned the value of patience, accepting every situation with a positive mindset, and embracing diversity. I’ve also developed social and collaborative skills that I will carry forward.

A bit of manual work at Lotorob.

To my fellow team members, I encourage you to apply the values we’ve gained—both in our personal lives and in our future missions. And to those coming next year, come with an open heart, a willing spirit, and great enthusiasm—it’s truly a life-shaping experience.

And every good thing has to come to and end to mark the beginning of an ever better beginning.
