   HOLY WEEK.

This is the week that begins immediately after PALM SUNDAY. It is the week where we commemorate the sorrowful passion of Jesus Christ and also His resurrection.

In this week, God seeks to bring justice to the poor and the marginalized and not to use the excuse of doing one good to avoid doing another equally important good (that nothing should stop us from helping and caring for the poor if we really wanted to).

In this week, we also see Jesus Christ being betrayed and denied by the people He had carefully chosen and formed to be Apostles. The people He had loved and were dear to Him. This helps us to learn and informs us that we should be ready to be betrayed by our own families, friends and even those we love. We shall face betrayal even from what we believe is true and especially as we follow Him and carry our different crosses.

In Jesus Christ’s betrayal,,we also learn that God will see us through our pains, our sorrows, our distress and even our own betrayals. He will always be our guide and comforter just as He was there for Jesus Christ and especially now during the COVID- 19 Pandemic. This will only happen if we remain loyal and faithful to Him.

On Holy Thursday, we remember Jesus Christ washing the disciples feet. By this, we are being advised to embrace servant hood and especially to our neighbors and even those far away. We necessarily do not need to buy anyone anything, but just a small text of knowing about ones well being is enough than anything. Letting a person know that you are there no matter the quarantines and the curfew.

Let us pray that with this HOLY WEEK ;

  • The Lord will renew us in the Last Supper in the present age so that we may enjoy His banquet for eternity.
  • That by the Blessed Death and Resurrection of Christ we may be preserved in the work of Mercy and that by partaking this mystery, we may have a life unceasingly devoted to God.

In the hope for the RESURRECTION:

  • May pardon for our sins and transgressions come.
  • Comfort given to the whole world and especially us during this COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Holy faith in God increased; and
  • Everlasting redemption be made secure.

God bless us all as we keep safe and let not this trying times deviate our attention and  focus on God.

Blessed Holy Week ahead……
